Our children have taught us more than most adults ever could (no offense to our adult friends out there). They can be so innocent when talking about adult topics. Below is a running list of things our kids have said or done since we started the journey to adopt their new sister from China. |

Last year as a second grader, Jared had several creative writing assignments to complete. At the end of the year, he brought home his folder with a story he had not yet shared with his parents. It was titled About My Family. |

Pray for China |

As we said our prayers with Chelsea this night, we closed with, “thank you Jesus, Amen” as we always do. Chelsea promptly sat up in her bed, folded her hands and said, “don’t forget to pray for China.” She has since informed us that China is her sister’s name. Now, each night we pray for ‘China’. |

From the Kids |
|
When we began asking our children how they would feel about adding another girl to our family we asked Corey if he would like to have a sister from China. Smacking his hand against his forehead he replied, “As long as she doesn’t speak Spanish!” I think we can handle that request. |

We asked each of the kids if they would draw or color something special about China. This is what they came up with (minor parental help was involved). Click a picture. |

New name for her baby sister |

Every so often Chelsea gets in a movie mood (meaning, she’ll watch the same movie for about a month during her t.v. time). This time as she looked through our entertainment center (which features mainly Disney movies), she found Mulan. As the movie started she came running into the kitchen with a most excited look on her face saying “mommy, I got a name for my baby sister; we can call her Mulan!” |
